I've been having really bad FPS problems lately, and it's be towards games which can demand heavy CPU usage. I decided to play GMOD with a mate that loves the game (No idea why) and I was getting horrible FPS on low settings... In the 40-50 range. I made a thread about low fps with games including heavy CPU usage and I was told to defrag, clean and all that which I have done most of and it seemed to work. Buttt the problems came back. I said this in the previous thread:
"I've had this CPU for awhile now, and it's done me some real good. But lately I've noticed heavy lag in games that are heavy on the CPU... 2 Examples being Battlefield 4 and CS:GO. I'll start of with Battlefield 4. After experiencing heavy lag with a map on BF4 I restarted my computer, and thought it was fine, to make sure it was I decided to load into a empty map and my fps was fine so I considered what I was near when the lag happened and it was fallen buildings, so I loaded into a empty server, grabbed a tank and shot a building down and boom! 30 fps, giant FPS dips. I got pretty mad and went to play CS:GO, which I saw was averaging around 90 fps... Which I thought was odd cause I used to have 200... I even play on 4:3 and everything low. I'll save you the complaining and misery and give you my specs:
GTX 960 4gb, i5 - 3470, B75M- PLUS mother bored, 8GB ram (Should be enough), 550w PSU, and yea.
I'd love to know if there is any fix to my problems or if I need to replace my CPU in general, or if its not even my CPU!"
Now I have had problems with the PSU, which I should be upgrading very soon *Fingers crossed* so hopefully that can fix some problems, cause I believe it might not be supplying enough power, but my FPS drops of lately have just happened a week or 2 ago and not during the discovery of the power supply problem. I play on mostly 900p, so you'd expect me to get 60fps+ on some demanding games, but I don't really anymore, not even on games that aren't that demanding!
I thought it was my 960 awhile back until I tested it in my mates computer and it was getting as much FPS as it was in other peoples benchmarks at 1080p (Even a little bit more) but in my computer its doing worse, even stutters in CS:GO all of a sudden. (I tied this to my PSU, could be my CPU now I think of it).
Would love some help! This whole ordeal is stressing me and I can't really find anyone that has the same problems! thanks for the read.
