red alert 2 and RA2 Yuri's revenge windows 8.1 gameranger problem

i have windows 8.1 in my pc but i cant play ra2 via gameranger. when i enter the network, at the screen where u select ur team and sides the screen goes back to desktop automatically and when i go back to the game only a black screen with the cursor on it is shown with the sound still working. same thing happens to both RA2 and RA2 Yuri's revenge.

the game works absolutely fine on my own network and in skirmish. the problem only appears while using gameranger

ok. i have the same problem as you. here is what i think is happening. so.. you know how gameranger does certain things spacific to certain games to do automatic stuff like join automatically and things like that? well you know how you launch the game and it automatically skips the intro? well what gameranger is doing is continuesly hitting escape on your keyboard virtually because for some reason it cannot detect that it has skipped the intro. when you try to join a lobby it alt tabs you out because it keeps hitting escape. i didnt find anything inside the options of the game nor gameranger to stop this like automatic intro skipping. we need to talk to whoever that made red alert 2 supported on gameranger. now the black screen is just how red alert works. we need to stop gameranger from injecting shit on the game like keyboard imputs.
