Red colour not showing on display

I have a vga monitor that i use as a second screen for my laptop and as a first screen to my ps4, i bought a hdmi to vga adaptor recently to use for my ps4 because the old one didnt had a dc input.
When i received my adaptor it worked perfectly, but the time past, like 2/3 months and some times the display showed some strong blue colours, but then i just reconnected the adaptor and it worked again. Now the display doesnt go back to normal. I know it could be from the adaptor but i dont want to buy another one and wait 1 month again to receive it.
Additional info, the display works perfectly with vga cable through the laptop, and with the other hdmi 2 vga cable, i displayed a colour palette and the colour red displays black, the other colours are fine
Edit: right after i post this, the adaptor just got the right colours again, really strange.

Bad connection on the red channel pin; the problem is at the connection point between the monitor and VGA cable, cable and adapter, or adapter and source device.
