Red CPU LED

The CPU LED on my ASUS Z97-A motherboard stays red. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to turn green.

What are the possible causes for this?

Usually on startup the lights cycle representing a systems check. If one is lit up and sys not posting, then the light is indicating an issue. check that all cables are secured in place on both the psu and mobo sockets. Replug the ram and maybe reseat your cpu?

what is reseating the cpu? I have already tried replugging the ram

its hard to install the cpu wrong. theres tiny arrows that line up, one on socket one on cpu. Has it booted before? first time build? if u get an error code what is the code?

It hasn't booted before, it's my first build ever, and upon further inspection it appears 2 of the CPU contact pins have been bent. Could that be causing my problem?
