Red CPU led

I bought an Asus Z97-AR and an i7 4790k. I have it all built and when I power it on everything lights up and the fans spin, but it doesn't post and the CPU LED stays red. I don't know how to go about trouble shooting this problem.

Check all cables, specially 24 pin.

did you connected the eatc 12v connector, can be 4 or 8 pins on your mainboard, comes form the psu

what cpu did you installed?

about the mainboard, is the cpu socket in good shape? no damaged or bent pins?
