Question Red CPU light on Asus Prime Z390-A ?

I haven't technically tried any remedies yet, but my red cpu light is on and yet I'm still able to use the computer. I'm currently using it right now to type this out. All components are from when they gave out money during the pandemic. Well technically the memory is now a few months old, but that's the only new thing. CPU is a i9-9900K. Water cooler is MSI MAG Coreliquid 240R. Everything seems to be working normally except the CPU light is on.

Now I don't know if this is related but I've been having issues transferring files to a USB stick. I can move some files but then seemingly randomly one won't work and the error message says it doesn't know what went wrong. I'm kind of wondering if that issue is related to the CPU issue.

Can anybody help me here? I'd appreciate it.

Edit: The CPU light turned itself off without me doing a thing.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original to build, new, refurbished, used)?

Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

List of all connected peripherals.

Wired or wireless network?

= = = =

Do you have the motherboard's User Guide/Manual?

There should be some explanation about the meaning(s) of red CPU lights and other LEDs as well.

No need to keep posting each "on/off" event. Just keep track of them and any related patterns.

Look in Reliability History/Monitor for error codes, warnings, and informational events that correspond with CPU being on or off.

Reliability History/Monitor presents a timeline format that may reveal some pattern.

I'll update all the specs later but the manual literally just tells me that the light means something wrong with the CPU and that's it. All that happens is that the light comes on. Nothing else happens with the computer. It just keeps on working.

I think I finally figured it out even though I'm not 100 percent sure. I had to restart the computer for a separate reason and through the BIOS I figured out that the CPU itself was overheating. As I've mentioned before I have an ASUS motherboard. Somewhere between 1.5-2 years ago I had a blue screen of death attack that wiped out my AI Suite 3. I thought the settings were still intact. I had to remove Windows 11 and go back to 10 to fix it but I never recovered the AI Suite 3 and I never tried to get it back. The thing I don't know is if the CPU was overheating because of the thermal paste on it is old or if I've been lacking the AI Suite which controls my fans speed.
