So I have just got a new Gigabyte X670 Gaming motherboard (not Aurus) and a Ryzen 7700X and noticed that the CPU light is constantly lit. When I first turned the PC on both the CPU and VGA where both lit, after I restarted to see if that fixed it, just the CPU came back on and the VGA now turns off.

The PC runs completely fine. I have stress tested it for hours and there has been no issues, the computer isn't slow, the CPU is completely in working order, as far as I can tell.

Just wondering is this a normal thing on these boards, or is the led faulty, or could there potentially be an issue with the socket/CPU? I've reseated the CPU and all seems fine I didn't damage any pins.

It's my first gigabyte board so I'm unsure if this is a stupid question.

Could be its meant to be on. I found similar on Gigabyte X470, my X570 too cheap to have lights.

Same board - link
Think it is, I looked at some videos of people installing gigabyte boards, and they stay on, think it's really weird design and sort of messes with my white interior, but is what it is. From what I remember the red light comes on if the board can't detect the CPU and it is reporting exactly what the CPU is and the speed it's running, but think it's a weird choice by gigabyte. Doesn't seem to be unique to this board.

Got even more confusing now, I reinstalled Windows and now the light is off (for the most part) I noticed it was off, but as I'm installing software back, some of the software requires restarts. If I restart from Windows, the CPU light will stay illuminated, if I shut down, and then press the power button, no light. Again I must stress the PC is running absolutely spot on, and is running as expected in benchmarks, it is overclocking with pbo, and ryzen master hasn't picked up on any issues. So I'm thinking it's an issue with sequence in which the lights turn on and off on the gigabyte board, which isn't a big deal, I will just shut down, as I usually do anyway, but I will try and flash the bios tomorrow and see if that sorts it, as I am just very confused.

It's more of a niggle rather than an issue, obviously I want my PC to run perfectly in everyway, but it very much seems like a first world problem at the moment
