Question Red horizontal lines on monitor when using higher than 60hz ?

So i have a laptop with a ASUS VG278 monitor and every time that i try to set the refresh rate of the monitor higher than 60hz it displays horizontal red lines all across on my screen. help pls

I'm using a Lenovo Legion Y530 laptop and a hdmi cable

It has an iGPU besides the 1050(ti) or 1060 right? Check which is used on the external HDMI.

Probably the HDMI port/output dones't support refesh rates over 60Hz.

That would be odd since the port is a HDMI 2.0
