[SOLVED] Red Horizontal lines

I've read a couple of threads about this topic but I'm going to ask this myself. So I bought a GTX 780 Poseidon second hand from facebook marketplace for 10€. The seller didn't know if the card is working or not so that's why it was so cheap (came with 2 OnePlus 6 armored glasses so no money really lost since I own that phone). I plugged it in and started up the PC. Right at the login screen I can see alot of red horizontal lines, same on the desktop. For some reason on white background like a google homepage they don't appear. I asked about this on a facebook forum about computers and I got some advice. 1. Lower the clock speeds = msi afterburner doesn't recognize the card for some reason. 2. Remove old drivers with DDU and install new drivers = I tried but when I try to install new drivers from GeForce Experience the screen just goes black (got advice later that I should install straight from nvidia's website, I will try this tomorrow) 3. A guy had the same problem on a 750ti where he had a cold sodder joint broken (I don't know if I use the correct term here but it's a straight translation from Finnish). Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem or is the card dead? No lines appear when I have my GTX 660ti plugged in.

My specs are below:

Current GPU = GTX 660ti
CPU = i5 3570
RAM = 8gb ddr3 1600mhz
PSU = Corsair 750w
MOBO = Asus P8B75-M
HDD = Seagate 1TB
Windows 10

Solution
As was said....try to install the driver directly.

....but after all you've said....it sounds to me like its the card.

You can also try lowering the power limit in Afterburner....this may help....but if it works....I think it means the card is on its way out anyway.

One thing you can try....as you have nothing to lose....give the card a smack. Maybe a small particle of something is shorting something out.
