I built my pc a few months ago and it has worked perfectly fine until today. Today it would not POST, and the CPU light is now lit up in the motherboard (red light). I have an Asus z270 motherboard with an i7-7700K. The computer has never had an issue with thermals or booting up in the past. The PSU supply's power to re motherboard because the orange light is on. Although it doesn't light up the "TUF" logo in the center of it, the logo remains unlit. The fans and case LED's all turn on as well as the CPU fans and motherboard fans. I don't get anything to show up on my monitor. I have not overclocked any of my components yet either and I have yet to find a solution on here that is specific to my situation. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.
EDIT: I also had it in sleep mode prior to it not POST ing so there may be some sort of issue with the pc not being able to recover from being in sleep mode, but I tried completely powering off the pc multiple times and even tried powering it up with only the CPU, mobo, psu, and ram installed and I still have the red CPU light on with no beeps. I have a sound pin connected as well, and I would previously hear beeps whenever I powered the system on. My guess is that the CPU is bad, but I'm not sure how that is possible when I never overclocked the voltage or anything about it. The psu fan also turns on. Please help!!

I have cleared the CMOS and attempted to update to the latest BIOS version. I'm in the process of a CPU RMA, which I'm waiting for my new one to show up sometime this week. I tried testing my PSU on an ancient mobo and that system powered on. I'm not sure if it's because the components probably use a whopping 300 watts in total or because there's no issue with the PSU. Once I get my replacement CPU, I'll be able to figure out if the PSU is an issue or if it's the board. Both are under warranty, so the issue is the wait time. I failed to mention earlier that I also have a gtx 1080 which people say is recommended to have a 850 watt PSU, so I'm not sure if there's a huge issue with there being not enough headroom or that I just got a faulty unit. If it's only a faulty unit, and not a wattage issue, then I'll just get my warranty replacement.

Another side note that I failed to mention is that after the original issue occurred, the system would turn on for about 30 seconds, then turn off, then turn on and stay on. After updating the bios to the latest version, my system would power on for maybe 10 seconds then power off. (The latest bios might have made it worse lol) All this happening with the fans spinning, rbg led's working and GPU fan/lights and PSU fan all spinning. This is what led me to a CPU RMA, considering that the CPU light was on, and there's was power to everything else. The rbg LED (Tuf logo) that is in the middle of the motherboard was not turned on at all, which it usually does when I press the power button. Costumer support at Asus said the CPU might still be the problem because that is what controls how the rbg profiles work. My periferalls also are wonky too: the mouse wouldn't power on, but the keyboard did. Another thing I noticed is that when I used to power the system off (back when it worked), upon starting it up, the CPU would say it's uptime was around 5 days in the performance tab of the task manager. I'm not sure why it would say it's uptime was that long when I power it off every night. That is what made me consider it being a mobo issue.
All in all, I've narrowed it down to a PSU or mobo/ CPU issue. There is nothing appearently wrong with the CPU socket, so my best bet is that the PSU is faulty. I can't test anything until I get my new CPU in a few days, but I'll keep checking back for updates here.
