Red light shows on mobo

Okay so, I was just on computer for maybe 20 minutes when my screen goes black. "No video input"

There was red light on mobo and not sure which one it means. There reads memok on mobo next to it, but also cpu_led so not sure what to say

Also, I couldnt turn pc off from power button and needed to cut power from psu

This problem occured first time for me, never happened before

8gb ram (4x2)
Fx 8350
Asus m5a99fx pro r2

The cpu_led LED may have been the one lit. Not knowing the board's LEDs, it could have overheated. Are you able to get the system back up and check the temps? I know those FX chips chew up a lot of power, and heat up like mad. It may also be worth redoing the thermal paste and making sure the heatsink's fully and properly seated.

Cant get it running, no video input. I doubt its about heating, was just browsing web when it happened. I dont go past 60 celcius even while gaming, and replaced thermal paste 2 month ago last time

Oh and no idea if this had something to do with it, but my mouse led was flashing (not usually doing it) but it also could be that I caused that but cant really check now

okay, looks like i found the problem. i switched the places of ram sticks and now its working. BUT, it only shows that i have 4gb ram atm so i guess other stick is damaged or something? if anyone know some ram troubleshooting program, would appreciate it

Memtest86+ is fairly standard in testing RAM, but if it's just not showing up then it's just not going to be seen by any program to test it. If the bad DIMM was in the first slot, it is common for that to cause the system to not boot.

RMA the failed memory, if they ask for testing, tell them it's not presenting to the BIOS.

would gladly RMA it, but i think its way over the warranty. Its pretty much ~4 years old so i guess its good time to buy completely new ram

Who's the manufacturer? Some offer lifetime warranties, like Kingston and Corsair.

It shouldn't be needed for lifetime warranties. I'd call or get on tech support chat, they might work with you.
