Question Red power light installing RAM.

Ordered some new RAM, compatible as far as the specifications go and double-checked with the list of compatible RAM with my board.

I have an HP Z210 with an Intel Xeon E3 and RAM running at 1333mhz. I bought and installed some GSkill ram to use with the stock ram, and I got the red power light. The new sticks installed by themselves work just fine, but when paired together with the stock ones, I get the red light.

Are these sticks not compatible, even at running at the same speed?

I've never experienced this before. So you're saying it'd be safer to use the same brand, but even then the speeds and timings might not sync up. Alright, thanks for the help.
I'm saying if you're looking for upgrade it's better to get dual channel kit, or even quad channel (if you're aiming to use the maximum capacity). That doesn't mean mixing never works. As I said, it might and it might not.
