How do you tell if your msi audio chipset is defective?
Because I get a red x on my volume. I uninstalled reinstalled my realtek audio drivers. I also checked system services and restarted both processes. On my UFEI it says my rear ports are disconnected. I made sure to plug in my line out audio jack all the way in to the right port, I tried them all. I reset my PC twice. I tried to open the realtek audio manager from the exe it kept auto closing in task manager. I am lost on what to do everything else works fine.

It is very unlikely the audio chip on your motherboard is defective.
Have you gone to "PC Settings > System > Sound" and run Troubleshoot?
If you go to "Control Panel > Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers" is Realtek Audio listed?
If you go to "Control Panel > Sound > Playback" what is listed as your default playback device?
