Over the past while, I've been getting PC parts together so that I can have a dedicated gaming PC. For a while, I had my heart set on the Corsair 300R, but I've recently decided to go looking through cases again. Now I'm not sure if I should get the Corsair 300R, the Fractal Design R4 or R5, or the Fractal Design S.

I'm aiming for high airflow, but quiet, -- I'll be sleeping in the same room as the PC. I like the idea of having side mounted fans, but I don't like that they don't have filters and I'm not sure how effective it would be to have them in the first place. And I'm not overly concerned about a windowed side panel.

I may or may not overclock at some point, I haven't decided.

Solution
first of all, a side fan would block a potential quieter air cooler like a noctua or a Cryorig H5. if you are running a low powered system, then cooling is not a problem. any case with a set of quiet fans would work
however, if you are running a higher powered system, Fx or i7, xeon, such and high power GPU like an old R9 290/390 or quadros, or multiple GPUs, then consider a better case. you could always buy filters for fans, as they are sold on newegg and amazon.
all the cases you listed re excellent cases. if you want looks, the NXZT S340 is great. if you want cheapa dn effective, go NZXt source 210 no window. the fractals listed are great cases too. side fans and top/bottom ones too. then get a set o cougar jetflo or arctic F12 fans...

Component wise, I plan on running an i5-4690k and an EVGA 1060 SC 6GB. Power usage is at about 316W.
