hi how do I more permanently reduce the volume for rear speakers. They are mounted very close to my ears and are too loud. Right now I can use the windows speaker balance from properties when you click on the speakers, however once you change your volume within windows below the lowest settings, it will no longer stick to that speaker setting.

thanks.

Realtek normally on motherboards

So whats on the driver cd? probably same as whats on here: https://www.startech.com/Cards-Adapters/Sound/USB-Audio/USB-7-Channel-Audio-Adapter-with-SPDIF~ICUSBAUDIO7D#dnlds

its possibly a limitation of the equipment that stops you controlling rear speakers individually. Unless you can find speakers that have their own volume controllers on them.

I have Logitech Z906, they cost a lot more than the unit you are using and do have individual settings for speakers. You get what you pay for really.
Are these a brand name speaker set? Some speakers let you control individual speakers via a control unit attached to them.

What kind of sound card do you have - I assume its onboard sound so probably Realtek? If so, use the Realtek HD Audio Manager and go to the room correction tab

Theres no individual control, just a single control unit. I use this sound card; http://www.mwave.com.au/product/startech-71-usb-audio-adapter-external-sound-card-ab66953, and it doesn't have Realtek HD audio.
