Reducing Cost on Gaming PC??

Can you help me get this at or under $600?? I really want to keep that CPU and GPU. I was also thinking of taking out the optical drive and finding a 4gb flash drive to install windows with. Could you help me find a cheap 4gb flash drive also?? And could you just overall help reduce the cost of the system. thanks

There is cheaper RAM in a single 2x4gb kit.

You're already using a low-quality motherboard, case, psu and cheap RAM. There's no way to reduce the price without downgrading the gpu or taking out the optical drive. I would still cut back on the gpu a bit to improve the case and motherboard, IMO. So you can have better and easier upgrades in the future.

i would not recommend running that rig with that PSU....that GPU requires 500W or greater power supply

you may want to consider reusing an old case and dvd drive...that will save you about $50

Good luck! Ther may not be cheaper RAM with that rebate you have. Once again, Good luck with the rebates. They are such a crap shoot.

Wow, you've missed some great deals that would've put you under budget without changing anything. There was a 760 going for $230 or so on Amazon the other day. And the X4 965 I've seen around $80 recently. If I were you, I'd just wait for some deals on the parts you've already picked. If not, then perhaps you could ditch the optical drive and swap the 760 for a 7870XT, that should bring you down to just under $600. I would change that PSU, though. This one would be perfect for your needs and does go on sale even cheaper from time to time.

Hey guys one last question, I can take out the network adapter but im not sure if I should. I have an old linksys wireless-g 2.4ghz 802.11g adapter. Yeah I know I it sucks I had those parts but they just ended like 2 days ago.

It will be slow. Generally you never want to be on wireless for gaming at all so I would get the best adapter you can.

Your cutting it very fine. If you overclock your CPU and GPU your power supply may not be enough (and you dont really want to stress it by going close to load if you can help it). You may be better off spending an extra 10 or so on a 550 watt PSU. I would also get a X4 750k and save 10 bucks (its a bit more energy efficient as well). This means you will need a FM2 mobo. I think you may need a 8gb flash drive to install windows with, so you wont actually save anything by omitting the DVD Drive. The only place to save money is really your GPU, what resolution is the monitor you will be using? maybe you can find an old copy of Windows 7 around somewhere?
