Hello everyone

I come to you with a request for help. the problem is that when i talk on discord after some time my friends hear some noise in my microphone when i wrote to the discord helpdesk for help the only advice i got was to call my internet service provider and ask them to reset the router and the gateway when i did that unfortunately the problem is still there until now. is there anyone who would like to at least locate the error so i can be sure the problem is on the provider's side?

Do any other audio or video applications have static?

Are you able to sketch out and post a simple diagram of your audio and video connections? Show all devices, connections, and connection types.

Include power connections.

Try your mic on another know working computer.

Try another known working mic on your computer.

Determine if the static follows the mic or stays with your computer.

Also: what is the source of that "Connectivity" window that you originally posted?
Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include audio hardware: earphones, mic's, etc.. Where and how connected?

Can you describe the microphone noise in more detail? Static, popping, hum, squeal, crackle....

And call Discord again.

The ISP, along with resetting router and gateway, is probably not going to resolve the problem.

Someone at Discord is not doing their job....

Hi! Overall, I am pretty sure it is a router problem - the connection between me and my ISP. That's what the discord support told me, so they told me to call them and ask them to reset my gateway router. I am wondering if simply replacing the router would help.

That is the brute force method and if you are willing to risk the money it is a pretty easy thing to try.

Static normally means you have packet loss and it would be uncommon for a router to cause that. BUT packet loss large enough to be heard on discord would also cause large lag spikes in a game. If it is only discord then it is likely a application problem. Maybe uninstall and reinstall discord and leave as many options default as you can.

I also reinstalled but nothing helped. I did a trace route and there was no indication of packet loss. I am having some trouble connecting to rtc I can send you screenshots of the discord console and then maybe something can be said. but this is in a private message because I do not want to lose my account.

You are going to need help from someone who knows discord and its communication protocols. Does discord have a forum.

If this was industry standard VoIP that many people know about but discord is using something else. You could try wireshark maybe it can decode discord sessions if some added the support to wireshark

Still you are now debugging a application problem not a true network problem. Network problems will affect more than just 1 program

discord itself does not know how to fix it. there are a lot of people on the internet who have the same problem and don't know how to fix it, it's sad because discord just gives obvious advice like ''renew your ip address''
