Reformat Seagate Central NAS

HI - anyone know if it is possible to reformat the Seagate Central Home NAS boxes with NTFS. Also anyone know ifit is possible to use Active Directory user accounts? Thanks!

The drive format is NTFS natively but there is no way its going to run AD.

Thanks - I thought so - and even if it's already NTFS that doesn't help as it seems you can only grant either 'read-only' or 'read/write' permissions.

read/write permission will allow user to read and write, what option you are looking for?

Hi - was looking to be able to read/write to some directories/files and prevent access to others but it seems it is access to all files or none.

All users have access to the public folders. Only admin and the specific user has access to their user folders.
I beleive thats the best you get with that particular NAS.
