Hey peeps,

I would like to reformat my SDD which has my OS on it, but I have 4 HDD's in raid 10 Config that I want to keep all my data on.

To get the Raid 10 I used Storage spaces to pool together the 4 HDD's into two separate partitions and then Disk Management to make a Raid 0 Array across those pools. My concern is that since the configuration is reliant on windows because its a software based array, will reformatting my C: drive make my D: unreadable?

Thank you for your time.

AFAIK, the new Windows installation will recognize the array straight away. Even the installer should see them as an array, instead of separate disks, but if you want to be sure, disconnect the member drives while you install the new system, then connect them again. When I downgraded from WinServer 2012R2 to WinServer 2012, the older system could see my array without any initialization. It was in the list, and just had to bring it online.

So, I think you can go ahead with the installation and the new system sould recognize the array without ant problems.
