Refresh Rate Problem

I recently purchased a LG Electronics Flatron 915FT Plus monitor and have been happy with it except one problem. When ever I run a game the refresh rate drops back to 60kHz. I have both my game and desktop running at the same resolution (1280 x 1024) and color (32-bit) I have the refresh rate set at 85khz but like I said it switches when the game starts. Anyone know what I should do?

Running an NT based OS? You'll have to install a utility that forces a refresh rate for certain video modes. (like powerstrip or nvidia refresh rate fix if it's an nvidia card).
