On my setup at the moment, I use an Avermedia C985 to record and stream gameplay. With this being said, this is my current wiring:
DVI-D splitter out of my GPU. Splits into 1. DVI-D straight to my monitor and 2. DVI-D - HDMI into a HDMI switch (one input is the from the GPU as listed above and other is an Xbox One.) which then goes into the Avermedia and then out to my monitor. When playing computer games, I will use the DVI-D that is my monitor and ignore the hdmi out from the Avermedia in an attempt to boost my refresh rate to 144 Hz. Problem is, when I change my resolution in nVidia Control Panel to 144 Hz, my monitor works (obviously), but the C985 cannot read the video as it is "Out of Range". When I go in and change my refresh rate to 60 Hz, the system works, but I am only at 60 Hz on my monitor where I am trying to be at 144 Hz.
I'm open to any suggestions for how I could game at 144 Hz on my monitor in DVI-D mode, but still have the Avermedia read in the video so I can record/ stream as well.
I understand that this is a confusing setup, so I will monitor this post closely so I can clarify anything if need be.
NOTE: In nVidia control panel, my refresh rate in "adjust desktop size and position" is listed as 144 Hz, but my refresh rate in the "Change Resolution" tab is the one that I talk about changing (Avermedia works with it on 60 but not 144. I believe this means that my refresh rate is only 60 atm.)
