What is the best refresh rate for the eyes? I know that 60Hz is bad, and 85 is optimal, but will going above 100Hz be better for the eyes? Thanks.

Above 100Hz? I don't what equipment/resolution settings you'd use, but that's overkill, I would think. I run 1024 res @ 75Hz, although my setup supports up to 85Hz at those settings. No problems here.

Depends on ur eyes, yes 100hz is better, but for me 85 really isn't an option cause I can still perceive flicker.

85 HZ, you see flicker? Feel bad for you.

70 Hz doesn't bother me at all. I can barely detect flicker at 60 Hz and only in a darkened room. In an illuminated room 60 Hz is comfortable for me.

Don't know if this is a visual weakness but it lets me own inexpensive monitors and not care if the top resolution can only be 70 Hz or 75 Hz.

There are exceptions to everything, but I think it is largely psychosomatic. I'm sure there are ppl who claim to perceive flicker at 100Hz.

lol, it depends on the individual, so one may perceive flicker at a refresh rate which another may not. I have found that often I notice flicker a lot more than my friends. I can tell you what refresh rate the monitor is at by just looking at the flicker up to 120Hz (some days I'll even notice 100Hz slightly) Given all this, I don't think it's psychosomatic, though it does get annoying sometimes.

I'd imagine it would not only be annoying, but expensive if you wanted to have high refresh rates at high resolutions.

Eh, my 17" FE791SB does 116hz @ 1024x768, and that's good enough. Later on I may get a 20 or 23" LCD........my dad just got 10 new 20" LCD's for his comp @ work, I'm jealous lol.
