how do you get your refresh rate quicker, i have a tnt 2, and refresh rate is slow, if anyone knows how to increase your frames in quake 3 please post up a thread.

it's in the display properties, settings tab, then click the advanced button, then go to the monitor tab, the refresh rate selector is in there.

That's a VERY good question since he specified one specific application, and that Application is Quake 3. So He's probably talking Framerate.

well, the REFRESH RATE can be adjusted under your display adaptor property, 75hz is the minimum.

cant help you with FPS(Frame Rate or Frame Per Second), your card is quite old and slow, so if you want the game to play a bit more smoother, turn off all the fancy effects and lower your games resolution. its time for an upgrade

I agree that it's time for him to upgrade, but I'm surprised that his TNT2 card wouldn't hold out well on that Game. Wasn't the TNT2 chip one of the popular chips that people were buying to get a good image quality & framerate on Q3?

...But if he's got a vanta or a TNT2 M64, then I can probably see where framerate would be an issue in Quake 3.

I ran Quake 3 on a Voodoo2 on a K6-2 system before. I had to turn down some of the LOD, but other than that it ran ok.
