Ive just bought a refurbished rtx 4070 super to put into my system, I managed to get into windows normal mode yesterday when I initially got it without doing anything, but I messed up the DDU driver installer and ever since I’ve been booting into a black screen with cursor.

After lots of videos and forums, I’ve just reinstalled windows on my ssd and now my pc won’t even display a signal. I have connected it to power correctly and my psu should be enough to handle the tdp as I see the fans spinning on the card when turning on.

Things I’ve tried were command prompts such as “sfc/scannow” as well as removing latest quality windows update, note that I was unable to remove feature update as windows kept showing some sort of error.

After all of that I just fresh installed Windows. My old RX 550 GPU works fine, but the RTX 4070 Super now doesn't display anything on the screen, the fans still spin though.

Specs
Ryzen 7 5700x
MSI b550 pro-vdh (non-wifi)
2x16gb Vulcanz tforce ddr4 3200 ram
RX 550 (works) - - - - Refurbished 4070 Super (doesn't work)
Corsair rm650 80+ gold psu.

The PC itself is all still relatively young and healthy, I just can’t get my RTX 4070 Super to display anything as of now. Thanks.

It's frustrating that your refurbished RTX 4070 Super isn't displaying a signal, especially after a fresh Windows install, while your old RX 550 works. The initial black screen with cursor was a driver issue, but "no signal" suggests a deeper problem. Start by re-seating the 4070 Super firmly in the top PCIe slot, ensuring all power cables are securely connected (preferably two separate PCIe cables from the PSU if required). Access your BIOS with the RX 550 and confirm the PCIe slot speed is set to "Auto" or "Gen3." Also, try different display outputs on the 4070 Super and a different monitor cable. If these steps don't resolve the issue, and given it's a refurbished card, it's highly likely the RTX 4070 Super itself is faulty, and you should contact the vendor for a replacement.
After reinstalling Windows, your RTX 4070 Super showing no display signal (while fans spin and your old RX 550 works) points to a deeper issue beyond simple driver corruption. First, try these: power cycle your PC, reseat the GPU and its power cables ensuring they're fully connected (ideally using two separate PCIe cables from PSU), and test different display ports/cables on the GPU. Also, use your RX 550 to enter BIOS, confirm the PCIe slot speed is set to "Auto" or "Gen3," and disable any integrated graphics if available. If these steps don't yield a display, the refurbished RTX 4070 Super may be faulty, and contacting the vendor for an RMA would be the next step.
Hi I’ve just tried redoing everything I’ve done yesterday and I’ve finally managed to get into windows, update drivers and everything works fine now. I was pretty sure it was a driver issue at first but I think reseating also helped even though it was small and simple just to get any signal back. Thanks for the help.

The fresh install of windows really helped as I redid the DDU with my old gpu first and finally got lucky with my gpu showing a signal.
