Question Refurbished hhd makes grinding noise? Help?

Just got a Hitachi ultrastar 1tb and during downloads it makes grinding noises...

Can you view the SMART status of the drive using HD Sentinel? See if there is anything obviously wrong with it.
But in short, if you've just bought it off a seller, and it's not operating exactly as it should, return it.
Some grinding noises CAN be normal, but not usually. The fact that it's refurbished could indicate there was a problem previously.

Thanks for the tips, and yes, I don't think the grinding noise is normal... It's not like a vibrating or clicking, it's just going GRRT every now and then from like 2-7 secs, and it's pretty loud.

So I checked the SMART and it said "ok" so it must be a bearing or part rubbing on something else... I'll take is apart and see.
