Question Reg: Buying GTX 1070 Ti or GTX 1660 Ti

Hello Experts, I just bought a MSI Gaming GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB for $479 less than a week and box not yet opened and I’m seeing leaks with regards to GTX 1660 Ti for lesser cost and greater performance towards GTX 1070 in the leak benchmarks. Should I return and wait for February 22 to place order for GTX 1660 Ti or should I continue with GTX 1070 Ti.? Which one is powerful and better.? Please advise.

At that cost I would return it and get any manner of other things. That is a lot for that card right now...of course I am assuming US pricing.

You can do, what ever you think is more appropriate.

It depends on, how long are willing to wait. It may not be readily available and could take several weeks until you're able to get GTX 1660 Ti.

I get it. I'm okay for RTX 2060 or RTX 2070, but which one you would advise.?

As mentioned before - RTX 2060 is about the same performance as GTX 1070 ti. If you want to save money, then return GTX 1070 ti and get RTX 2060 instead.
If you want even more performance, then get RTX 2070.

If you really wish to save money i'd suggest you to get 2060 don't go for 1660Ti it performs similar to 1070 according to leaked benchmarks.

1070 Ti is a good deal under 380$ since hardware wise 1070 ti is still superior, it has more cores and more ram.

If you really want more performance than your 1070Ti/2060, as suggested go for 2070 or 2080 based on your requirements.

I got a 1070Ti ftw ultra for 370$ newegg during BF sale.

I would suggest returning the card and picking up the RTX 2060. $479 is too much to spend when the RTX 2060 is very comparable in performance. AND you can get the FE for $349. or you can go all out with the aftermarker Asus ROG STRIX for $399 with triple fans. either way its much cheaper than the 1070ti and similar performance. If youre doing 1440p cant do wrong with the 2060.
