Dear All,

need a help regarding a small case of buying 12VHPWR extension cable for my ASUS TUF 4090. I am from India and i may be able to order from Brands like Cable mod, so my query is how can i judge if a extension cable suggest in amazon is of good quality. this come with a concern of 4090 cables melting due to over heating. i am a 3D artist so i will do a lot of rendering work so kindly suggest me if there are any spec that i need to search while buying a 12VHPWR extension cable for my 4090.

I am getting suggestion in Amazon like the ones mentioned below. are they any good??

kindly provide your input on the same.

Do you have the 4090 now? Did it ship with an adapter/extension?
I have a 4090 with me and it has shipped with an adapter extension. but i am having a Cooler master ATX3.0 PCIE gen 5 cable( 12VHPWR) so i am using that,

but my torrent case has a top mounted PSU and the GPU cable being short, the Cable has been passed through from the front side (rather than the usual right side where all cables are passed through) which doesn't look good
so just for aesthetics i wanted extension cable that will make it look neat.
but didnt want the melting thing come in so just trying to understand before you buy tips for extension cables.

hope i am making my point clear here?

Understood. Extension cables may be fine in some instances, but (like you) I would be very cautious with extending this particular cable. Aesthetics aside, I would not use any extensions/adapters with this very expensive GPU unless absolutely necessary.

You have mentioned torrents before. What are you torrenting?

torrent is my case - the Fractal torrent case. that has a top mounter PSU so.

and yes i get your point about the being caution and hence i am doing a survey and knowledge gaining interaction before even thinking of buying anything.

this is the current connection how it is in use.

I see. Altogether a different kind of Torrent!

I would trust a cable (not an extender but a longer cable altogether) from Cablemod, I would not put faith in an Amazon (no name) vendor.

When I looked at Cablemod's site, I didn't see anything for Cooler Master PSUs for the type of cable you need. I would suggest contacting them.

Hey i had a word with Cablemod and they are supplying to India as they confirmed. so using extension for a 4090 from Cablemod a good option right? or its better left alone kind of a thing.

they are confirming to not have any melt down issues for any 4090 so the question.

I would use a Cablemod product with minimal concern. They are well engineered.

In your case, other than for looks, it seems unnecessary to use an extension.

If you use one, it should be okay.
Yes its nothing urgent and a compulsion, but the wire hanging like that seem odd while working inside the case. hence if possible and if it is safe then in future would use a cable extension to properly route it the conventional way that is from below.

again its just a optional thing nothing harming my work or anything.
