So my my intel hd 4000 says it has 2GB of adapter ram but I know for sure its not using it like before upgrading to windows 8.1 I could play far cry 3 on medium settings and get 25-30fps but now all I get is under 20fps on low settings is there anything I can do to get my old performace back like I have tried everything but it hasn't changed.

It isn't the amount of available system memory the iGPU has available that is your problem. Memory simply determines the depth of field, A-A quality, textures, etc. If your frame rate has slowed down, it is due to other issues.

Btw, the iGPU doesn't contain 2GB of VRAM. It uses system memory for its VRAM. And it doesn't have the RAM, it simply has up to that much that it can steal from the system memory when needed.

OK well I have an Intel i3-3110m 2.4ghz and 8gb of ram so how can I improve my gaming performance back to what I use to have because I've tried a bunch of things and nothing has really changed it.

Like I know it shouldn't of been able to do it but it did and now it won't like I know I changed some setting on my computer before without bios like I set something to 256 instead of 128 and I have no clue what I did lol but I think it helped like I've been repairing computers and doing programing and stuff so I have a fair bit of computer knowledge and I know my computer shouldn't be able to run the stuff I get it to run but it does and when I use to play far cry 3 I would be on video chat to so Idk what's messing with it now

Well, if you don't know what you changed in BIOS, I surely don't. But you might try resetting your BIOS back to its default settings if it originally gave you better results before.
You might also try throwing in a few periods when you post a message 😉

My bios is default I'm saying I changed something before and it wasn't in bios but I cant remember what it was or if it even did anything lol and i'm to lazy to use punctuation on the internet theres no use for it im not in school writing an essay or being graded so whats the point in using proper grammer
