CPU : Ryzen 7 2700x / Ryzen 3 2200g / I5-2500k
Motherboard : Asus Prime B450 Plus
GPU : GTX 1060 6GB OC / GTX 780 WINDFORCE OC 3GB
RAM : G.Skill 16G (2x8G) F4-3200C16D-16GVKB PC4-25600 / DDR4 3200 Mhz
PSU : Rm550x

Hi after hours upon hours of research regarding my 780 not displaying anything on my ryzen 7, turns out it's a major compatibility issue that i probably should have known about before getting the card, so i'm reduced to using a older intel cpu / ryzen 3 for it to work, it's extremely annoying not being able to use your top CPU for performance purposes.

Anyway i've been looking everywhere for a solution, even messaging AMD & Nvidia respectfully and nothing so far, does anybody have ANY ideas on this?

The best i've found is changing the PCIE Option in the bios from 3.0 gen to 1.0 but my bios dosen't have that option so i can't.

I'm just trying to figure out why it's incompatible, maybe it's something to do with the ryzen 7's auto overclock feature ?

any ideas are welcome.

Are you saying the GTX780 will not work with a B450, but that a GTX1060 worked ok? (Or did the GTX780 possibly just not work with your given your specific PSU, perhaps?) Does it work with the 2200G inserted, but using the GTX780 for graphics? (Does your PSU have enough power connections for the GTX780, and, the ATX12V connections for CPU PWR to mainboard? Does your 780 need a 6 pin and an 8 pin PCI-e pwr input?)

no the 780 dosent work with the ryzen 7, it works fine with the motherboard, it works just fine with the psu, it works with the 2200g, it has enough power to run it (550w) and has all pins inserted firmly

Oh well, looks like 2nd gen Ryzen forces the slot to pcie 3 and Gtx 780 doesn't like it. There's a lot of people in that thread complaining. Changing pcie to 2 works but you don't have that option. I checked manual and don't see a hint of this setting either. Saw a pcie table in the manual labelling Ryzen 2nd gen pcie 3 and pcie 2 for 1st gen, looks like pcie version is locked depending on cpu generation.

Yeah, didn't think so. Might be time for an upgrade.
So some sort of odd compatibility issue with a particular gen processor, particular gen MB BIOS, and a 5-6 year old GPU?

Things happen.
Install the GTX1060, complain to AMD a little (which will not be fixed), and move on.

Hold on a minute, before i leave this alone and sell the card, a guy on a evga forum said that i could "update the bios of the card + if that didn't work i could use a program called GopUpd which will force the card into UEFI mode"

I'm willing to do it however do y'all think it's safe to flash a card, i don't exactly want to brick it?
