hello, I have circle gaming psu 500w and willing to go for 3060ti. using r5 3600. Do I need to upgrade my psu?
Thank you.

Solution
Absolutely. Circle psus are all fancy looking and their marketing is designed to fool ppl into believing that they are getting a quality psu. The reverse is more true. Circle psus are some of the worst name branded psus on the market. I'd be very surprised if that psu could actually deliver even close to 500w, generally they tend to fry if pushed more than @ 250-300w for any length of time.

Circle stays in business because they use 10 year old group regulated designs, cheapest possible components, cut corners and basically put a fancy paint job on a $3 psu that they then sell for $40, big profits per unit, nothing but the basics inside. For perspective, Circle psus are 10x worse than anything you'd find in Dell, HP, Lenovo etc factory...

For a 3060ti you should be looking at a higher quality psu in the 650w catagory, there aren't any good ATX psus at 600w, and 550w is pushing it unless you have a lower power cpu like a 65w Ryzen or i3/i5 Intel.

damn I didn't have any clue while buying this. Looks like its a complete loss project then. Thanks for pointing out with such a broad idea bro.

Yeah, sorry. Most have no idea they got ripped. Most don't understand or think about the psu in general, it's cpu then gpu then mobo, ram and case. Psu comes last on the list, what can they get with the last of their budget. And that's where Circle lives, cheap psu's that sound good, and should work because they have higher wattage on the cover.

Psu is relatively cheap. It's $70-$150 on average, you pay that much for an NVMe drive. Yet the psu has to provide good, stable power to everything and protect everything. Under current, over current, under voltage, over voltage, thermal, short circuit etc. And provide a clean, stable DC output.

Dirty power has a high ripple, which gpus and cpus don't like, makes them run higher voltages, makes OC all but impossible, stability becomes an issue as the ripple spikes and dips etc.

All in all the psu is the single most important component in a pc. A good psu should have no issues out-living the entire time you use the pc.

lately the Corsair RMx series has been going for rather cheap.
you can usually find a 650w for ~$75 +shipping.

also some help for determining other good quality higher tiered models:
