Registry after reinstall.

After every reinstall of Windows 7(clean install),are the registry removed and if not,how can i remove them?I heard that some of them remain hidden after every reinstall.Is that harmful for the PC,because last week i made quite a few reinstalls and i am a bit worried?
P.S I know nothing about registry and stuff.

If you formatted and fresh install of Windows... there are NO old registry files ...just the ONE new one...

I thought the registry was made up from several hives/files

Most important is if u reformat the drive/partition..? i

f it formatted then the reg is clean.....
