Regpermwriter .exe

When installing: radon ati 9800 toHIS hd3650 card .followed ati website instructions for replacing old card with new. While installing his ati drivers
it reported error regpermwriter .exe has encountered a problem
and needs to close.Tried everthing over again same thing.Installed oldcard and it was recognized and old drivers(that I deleted plus wndows/temp) were there. Tryed to update drivers ati download same regpermwriter.exe error. Can anyone help the web does'nt have alot about it

sounds like whatever process that is failed to write to the registry. Try installing the driver with CCC. Without that i couldnt get my friends 3650 to play CoD2 because for whatever reason 2D texture mapping wasnt enable. Id blame ATIs drivers as i often have problems when updating my 4850. ( i flashed a custom BIOS to it )

I had the same problem with RegPermWriter.exe crashing. The error was that GetAclInformation returned a NULL access control list for HKLM/Software. A NULL control list is returned when there is no control list, that is if everyone has full access. This is not normal for HKLM/Software to have full access. I copied the control list from another computer (by hand, editing permissions with regedit), and now RegPermWriter runs correctly.
