to check hdd run chkdsk in command prompt, check it out in google. for correct checkup for the other components the best way is to take it to a repair center and if they are checked using softwares some errors will not be detected.

Did you see the Registry alteration under the Prerequisites?

To enable this fix, you must create or modify the following registry subkey:

Registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WHEA\Policy

DWORD name: IgnoreDummyWrite
DWORD value: 1

Thanks for pointing that out as I did not notice it.

Anyways, I am not able to find WHEA folder under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control

Is there another workaround for this?

You may need to create the folder and key.

Just did that and rebooted, and tried again, but no luck.
