My internet speed has been ridiculously slow lately so i decided to test my speeds, download speeds came back normal with 30mbps but my upload speed was 1mbps and sometimes even lower, earlier in the day the speeds were fine but now they are horrible. Reset/power cycled router, reset BBU, contacted ISP and we still can't figure it out, going to contact them tomorrow again about this with a network technician but i would like some input from the community

Actually that's pretty normal for residential internet speeds. If your lucky your ISP will provide 2 mbps upload. Your best bet is to call your ISP and have someone come check it out. They will be able to tell if your speed issue is them or you.

I had a friend who had a three way splice in his cable line that had gone bad. The service tech came in and replaced it and everything was well.

Southern Minnesota*

earlier i had 20mbps upload and ive had that forever, but yeah i will definitely get them to check it out

Just out of curiosity where are you from. My speeds are from southern Minnesota. 30down 2up

Southern California, just did a test, 30down 0.89 up

Most people have far better upload speeds than are available here but upload speeds of 2Mb is pretty uncommon for home use.

Ive never experienced these slow upload speed ever because I don't pay for 30down 1up lol, its usually always 30down 20up, could it be bad hardware maybe?

I would check your contract. I've personally never heard of 20 megs up unless your a business, or on a fiber optic connection.

Could it be possible your ISP made a mistake and gave you 20 up? Anyways why would you need 20 megs up. Are you transferring Monstrous files to the cloud or something?

Either way "IF" your paying for 20 megs up you should be getting 20 megs.

Time warner's speed packages. There is no 20 up.... https://purchase.timewarnercable.com/core/twcInternet

Yeah im not sure what the internet package was but both dl/up was pretty big, and I have Verizon Fios , forgot to mention. I would be fine with low upload speed but this is just way too slow and definitely not what im paying for

OK I'm Jealous. Wish I have FiberOptic near me. Looking at their website seems that yes you should be WAY faster.

If you look at the first test results you posted, you will notice that it says you are on AT&T U-Verse, which means DSL, and DSL is crap, but it is all AT&T seems to have. DSL is phone wires. Yes, 1940's phone wires with kludges from hell all over it, and they seem to be incapable of or willing to install modern tech.

Now this latest test does show you are on Verizon FIOS.
