Hi, I recently bought a Sumvision Mini PC and upgraded to Win 10. As they advertised it as Win 10 upgradeable I presumed it should be an easy upgrade, however my OEM activation was not passed to the new install, I have about 8 missing drivers in Device Manager which I have no clue what they devices are, and the SD slot which gives expanded hard disk space no longer works.
I did try to update the drivers and that did not work.
I tried to restore Windows back to 8.1 but Win 10 thinks its the main OS so that cant happen.

I have now installed Win 8.1 from a DVD so I could then use the Win 8.1 recovery tools to access and install from the Recovery Partition, which I presume is still the original install. When I try a restore I am asked for the location of the image, however the recovery partition does not have a drive letter.
I am presuming I can use the recovery partition to restore the PC.....If yes how please?
Thanks

First the good news: If Sumvision advertised the device as upgradable to Windows 10 then they should have drivers ready for Windows 10.
Second the bad news: You might actually need to download the drivers from Sumvision and install them.

As far as the recovery image, Sumvision may not have created one in the first place. You will probably need to contact them and get recovery disks.

You Windows 10 install probably would have worked for you had you installed the drivers from Sumvision.

I contacted Sumvision but am not getting any response from them.
I also checked their website and they do not have any downloads at all, or for that matter any support area.
(I have registered for support, but got no reply)
I have now assigned a driver letter to the recovery partition, but when I try to use it to reset the PC it reports that the recovery drive is empty although it shows 5.86GB used.
I don't think the upgrade would have worked properly if it did not copy over the activation key from 8.1 which was an OEM
Running out of ideas here....
