So I reinstalled windows, and I chose the option during the install that said custom install which i guess installed just the basic files, it would not be an issue if i still had my driver disc for my motherboard, I lost it..., what can i do to get the drivers installed again so I can connect to the web?
Thankyou.

go to the board manufacturer's website and look up the board model you have. there should be a support page where you can download the drivers. the LAN driver in particular is what you want. once you install that you will get network back on your computer.

It wasn't the basic install that was your problem, even a full install would not have loaded the drivers, windows is really bad at noticing on board LAN.

Just get driver identifier (it is only 925kb) and run it on your pc and check for errors..
also dont forget to select "i do not have internet connection"

it will create a html file. put it in another computer and open it done......

it will show you the missing drivers.......

hope this helped
