i chose the evga because it is cheap and a good brand, however this pc doesnt really need that many watts. Any better/cheaper options?

what about these?

i am on quite a strict buget and am already over. i also don't plan on upgrading a a while.

The proposed system would get buy with a quality PSU rated at 320 W or more.

The selected EVGA PSU, although not bad, is not the best of quality. There is a concern about its long term reliability.

Some suggested higher quality PSU's (have to pay a bit more for the quality) -

XFX Pro 550

XTX TS 550

Rosewill Capstone 450

Rosewill Capstone 550

Recommend getting dual channel kit instead of just one DIMM to maximize memory bandwidth. Something like 2 x 2 GB, or preferably, 2 x 4 GB kit.

i see the rosewill one says:
80 PLUS GOLD Certified
Intel Haswell CPU Ready
Continuous 450W at 50 degree C
Single strong 12V rail - idea for Gaming system
SLI & CrossFire Ready - 2 x 6+2pin Connector
1 x Silent 140mm Fan with Auto Fan Speed Control for better silence
Active-PFC with auto AC-input voltage adjustment (100-240V)
Mesh sleeving on all cables for easier cable routing and better ventilation

what does that mean? will i have any issues if i dont pic a psu that says this?
yes i will get another 4gb when i earn more $

PSU's that are "Haswell CPU ready", means that the PSU can supply extremely low standby current when the computer is put into low power/sleep state when C6/C7 states are enabled in BIOS. And the computer will wake up reliably from this C6/C7 low power/sleep state while using a Haswell CPU ready PSU.

PSU's that are NOT "Haswell CPU ready" qualified means they are not capable of supplying extremely low standby current (reliably), and there may be issues with the computer not waking up from C6/C7 sleep state and/or the system crashing.

However, this is not a major issue in that the C6/C7 low power/sleep states can be disabled in BIOS. There will be no problems waking up from sleep state while using a non Haswell CPU ready PSU.

In other words, just about any PSU can be used when the C6/C7 low power/sleep state has been disabled.

Thanks for the info, just want to make sure i don't buy any incompatible equipment
