I was just watching the GeForce3/Mac G4 video and starter to ponder. I remember when Diamond was making nVidia base video cards hell I still have and love my Viper 770 Ultra, 550, and even my Monster2. Remember how Hercules (not yet Guillmont) was second compared to them. Even Elsa had a hard time keeping up with them. What would the Diamond GeForce3 be like if S3 hadn't bought them out? It'd be the best damned card out. Would they have continued thier line of FireGL's after nVidia Quadro chipset (assuming they were still making nVidia based cards)?

Diamond did make damn fine cards, the fireGL was and is better than anything nvidia can put out. The gl3 is the best card out, well, maybe the new wildcat can do better, haven't looked at it yet.

I'm sorry but Intense3D is in thier own league. The Quadro2 is a damned fine card so is the GL and maybe even the Oxygen VX1, but the Wildcats are far superior and far more expensive. I don't even atempt to compare.

Well I'm a gamer first and a 3DStudio user second so I'm gonna try Elsa's GF2 Ultra for my next card (I'm waiting 'til the GeForce3's come out first though). After the fall of Diamond I didn't know where to go. I tried leadtek for their GeForce2 GTS but aint that impressed. If I remember right Diamond wasn't a cookie cutter reference board maker. I know for sure Elsa and Hercules aren't so between the two I'll pick my pocket for a little extra cash and go with Elsa from now on. I do intend to buy the GF3 later on but I'll wait 'til an Ultra version comes out and then go for it. By then the game market will have more games written for it's features and Elsa's 920 Ultra (if that's what it'd be called) would really rock.
