remembering a game title

so i played a game i think on mac when i was a kid. so u start with a base, and you have to make ships and harvest resource points to eventually destroy the enemy base. the graphics were a little cartoonish, and i remember a lot of blue(maybe cause that was all my ships?) 90's game

Could that possibly be StarCraft? Maybe you remember Protoss aircraft?

so its all in space, no ground at all... the resource points are either beacons or asteroids. I have star craft, and that is definitely not it...

Sorry man, can't help you then... Did you try searching in Google with the best search method? Using very short descriptive phrases combined even if it doesn't make much sense as a sentence can help a lot - my search results got way more accurate.

so its not homeworld, but it seems like it would be similair but with less graphical/command goodness.
also no ground means no herzog or alien legacy....
