Check the 2nd computer's System Properties - Remote settings to make sure it has the Allow Remote Assistance setting checked.
Check the Advanced settings too.
Also try sending a Remote Assistance request from your computer to the 2nd computer. If you get connected you can swap over control.
Did you setup the router for "port forwarding" of the port remote access uses?
Set up port forwarding on your router to forward port 3389 to the 2nd computer you want to use.
Doing this lets the router "know" that any traffic sent over port 3389 is to be sent to that 2nd computer.
Another way that could work is if you specify the IP address AND port number of the 2nd PC you want to connect with - in this example the xxx would be the actual port number of the 2nd PC.

MSN Messenger / Windows Live Messenger can do this and requests can be sent by email. When you do this both computers poll port 3389 and that lets the routers know where to sent port 3389 traffic.
I have recieved a request via e-mail from the second computer, but it states waiting to connect. Then I recieve an error message stating it could not connect the second computer may of closed remote assistance. I have tested the two procedures at home with my two computers and the remote access works fine

Thanks for your help. I have tried all but having the second computer send me a request and switch control. As you probly figured the second computer has serious issues. That is why I am trying to connect. Thanks again for your help
Might be a dumb questions, but what version of Vista do you have? I think you need Vista Business/Ultimate to be a Remote Desktop "target"? However, there are alternatives to MS Remote Desktop if you want to try like UltraVNC.
