Question Remote control not working on Aibecy webcam ?

I recently brought a Aibecy HD video conference camera 1080p, I can get it to work fine via the usb into the laptop, but I can't get the remote to work (and yes I have put batteries in!) - the lights on the remote flash up when you press them, but the camera doesn't respond ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

No offence intended, but you are pointing the remote at the webcam ? Sorry for asking, but it does need to be confirmed as a first step.

Could simply be broken, first step would be to contact the vendor.
