Dear all,

My noisy win7 64bit computer should run some simulations in the basement, with me every once while controlling it over a remote deskop connecton. The problem is that when i close the remote desktop connection, the computer seems to go in some sort of idle state after a while.
When i access it again after some hours in the morning for example, i see no files generated during the night, also there are no logs in the windows even viewer for that time period. It seems like it went in to a pause or some sort of extreme slowmotion until in logged in over remote, and then all seems to work fast again.

What could be the reason of this? does any one have any suggestions how to solve it?

Thanks for the suggestion,
althought its kinda obvious i didnt check that before, but its a clone of a system that i have here at the university, and there the sleep/hybernate stuff is dissabled. So im pretty sure it is disabled. Also it doesn sound sleeping or disabled, while its doing nothing, fans are spinning full power.

I was thinking that is was like getting to hot or something, but i cant check that. because all the temperature monitor programs also have a gap in the diagrams or logs for time that its disconnected from the remote session.

EDIT:
Well i am deep ashamed to write, but you where right.
My first check was just to test the shutdown options over the remote connection, [start, shutdown etc] and there was no "sleep"i option so i assumed sleep mode was disabled. But! later checking the registry settings for the sleep and hybernate stuff, it showed that sleeping was infact enabled. :ouch:
Later when i checked the system from wich i cloned this disk, i was surprized, because that machine didnt even show the sleeping options in the power settings, i guess the video card does not support it, so thats why i never had the problem there.

Well over a remote connection its really not so obvious to see, but sleeping was on.
Thanks its solved.
