Remote desktop from Android Tablet to a windows xp pc without internet connection

I have a Car-PC, it mainly controls music in the car.
I have an Android tablet that I like to use Google maps/traffic on it.
The Car-PC has a touch screen mounted in the dash, but is small (7").
I would like to log into the PC with the tablet wirelessly and control the Car-PC with Microsoft remote desktop, I have done it when it is connected to my home network, but on the road I can't get it to work. The PC has a usb wireless.

What is the best way to do this?

this application can help you . it requires u to install the software on your pc and install the app from the play store.
