Have any of you chaps any knowledge of the remote lamp that sticks on the
vehicle roof by suction? There is one on Ebay at the moment.

I think Deben sell them but just wanted to know what sort of beam they have
and whether the odd bump would give you the chance to look at the mud on the
underside of the truck.

I know you can get manual ones but these requires a hole in the cab roof

If you buy one of these, make sure you buy it from a place you can
return it to when the switch or the swivel mechanism packs up.

If you want one go search for Northern Tool (or somesuch) - they're
cheaper than your local gunshop but get tired of repeated replacements
which is what me and my pal sufferred from.

When they work the beam's good for 200 yards easy.

Thanks Pete

Sounds like these lamps are more novel than practical

Oh no, they work but if you want to leave it on the truck roof
fulltime, rain or shine, be prepared for the pan/tilt going sticky and
then not going anywhere.
