[SOLVED] Remote Resolution alternative to RDP.

My local computer is running at 2560x1440, my remote computer can't support more than 1920x1080. I am looking for a software that will allow me to switch to 2560x1440 when i start a remote session. RDP does this automatically, but I cannot use it for a different reason. Looking for a free alternative. As far as I know, teamviewer, jumpdesktop do not support this.

You can select whatever resolution you want with TeamViewer:

But if RDP is an available option, I would definitely use it!

Gotxha. That is odd. So if you were to reboot the computer, with only the 5g connection, it still fails? I wonder if it would help if you told Windows to "forget" the other connection.

as long as the computer is connected to 5g, the RDP connection does not work. As soon as I disconnect from 5g and connect to 2.4Ghz network, I am able to connect via RDP.

Sounds like there is a break in connection along the route, as the computer itself doesn't care how the data is being transferred, as long as it's available, but we will get there (as the 5g network grows).
As to your original question, I am not sure. Splashtop might, but it then again it may have the same limitations as TeamViewer. The options they list are:

1. Native resolution of remote computer - no change to remote computer resolution, may have black bars show
2. Best fit to client computer - adjusts remote computer resolution to the same aspect ratio as the local computer, icons may not move back
3. 1024x768 - adjusts remote computer resolution to 1024x768, icons may not move back
4. 800x600 - adjusts remote computer resolution to 800x600, icons may not move back

I think you are referring to a different 5g. https://www.pcmag.com/article/365754/5g-vs-5g-e-vs-5ghz-whats-the-difference

I am using 5Ghz not 5g(eneration).

That said, 10 minutes after you replied the RDP started working under the 5g LOL. So you brought me good luck. It seems Microsoft did something from their side, because i've been bugging them for a while.

Splashtop doesn't have this option. It seems it is unique to RDP.

Yes, 5 Ghz is NOT 5g. Thank you for clarifying. It would have helped if they had done something to make it a little more unique (5.1g, etc) but maybe its just me. Hope your luck continues!
