Remote system 'kill switch'?

I want to make a remote kill switch for my PC system.

I run an Apache web server, so is there a way to remotely kill the Apache process? In case I discover a flaw, vulnerability, or being DDoS'd, I want to be able to immediately stop the web-server until I get home to fix it.

Is there a way to kill the server through the Internet?

I recommend you go with a power-management based solution. There's lots of options out there. Basically a surge protector with a NIC, usually considered a PDU. http://www.synaccess-net.com/np-05b/ - used many of these over the years, but do your homework and read reviews.
