Any help will be greatly appreciated as I can't find anything on the internet to do what I want done.
I have a zte f609 router at another location that I use as a wifi hotspot for my guests.
I have no local computers there and it's a 30 minute drive to get to it to configure a new password, etc.
I WANT to be able to use the internet sided IP address to get to the administration web page WITHOUT having to drive there (in other words instead of using 198.162.1.1 I'd sit at home and type in 38.77.177.18 or whatever the router ip address is on the internet side, get into the front end and make any changes I need to)
I set up a tcp port forwarding application on the router that works fine IF I am logged into the network there BUT if I head home and try it it times out.
Is what I want impossible to make happen??

Cheers
Max

Just because a router is supplied by an ISP doesn't mean you can't use your own. The simplest option to me is to buy another router that gives you the functionality that you want. On top of that, if you return the company's router they might refund you the fee for using it.

won't work - all that's available on that end is the router

I'm beginning to suspect as much. Unfortunately that is the hardware supplied by the ISP.
I am hoping someone can help me figure out a way though. Thanks

Unfortunately this is Indonesia and I'm not sure they would be amenable to it
but I am willing to give it a try
I'll post if that's a solution
UPDATE
this router uses a passive optical network GPON connection
any model numbers for remote manged routers??
