Hi,

My CPU temp is getting around 45 to 65 degrees Celsius while idle. I use it mostly for retrieving camera footage. Room temperature is around 29 to 33. I was planning to change CPU cooler but I noticed some require you to add a bracket/mount to the back of the motherboard. Anyone knows how this can be removed? I am currently using LGA 1156, i5-760. Below is the picture of the mount.

Here are the motherboard specs according to cpu-z

Manufacturer: Acer
Model FIH57

Thank you in advance.

Looks like you got some water damage on the back there. Fkn hell.
You loosen the 4 screws for that bracket from the other side/front.
If it requires a screw driver (like most do), don't let it slip and poke a hole through the board :p

Thanks for the reply. I finally mustered some courage and "gently" pried off the mount. After I removed the cooler/heatsink, i tried pushing the screws where the cpu cooler was connected. one of the screws was easier to push than the others. so what i did was "gently" pushing them out. after the screws were making marks on my thumb, i looked for a flat screwdriver with a small head and "gently" prying off the mount from the back of the motherboard. I did the screws one by one diagonally. I'm not sure if that was good or bad though. took me around 15 minutes doing this ritual and finally was able to pry off the mount. it was using a double-sided tape.
