remove a-z apps list on start

since a recent update, when I click start there's an A-Z list of my apps installed on my PC, is there a way to remove this list as it was removed before but the recent update has brought it back and now I cant remove it, thanks

that was a change made by Microsoft, not sure why

only two solutions and neither the greatest

either run http://www.classicshell.net/ which makes it look like 7 or
