Remove Alerts as they re read?

Is there any way to have alerts removed after I read them? They seem to stick around for the day or maybe the session. I've looked around the preferences area but haven't found a way to do it.

UNFORTUNATELY no way to proceed like that right now.

Alerts need help, or to be more effective and organised, I generally ignore them now and only read them occasionally, relying on other menus to find my posts.
